It is hard to be surprised, after 50 years of driving everything and anything I have crossed paths with, but it happened with this 2004 Hummer H2 6.6 Duramax Mash Motorworks Conversion SUV.

Simply said, this Mash Motorworks H2 is quick, pleasantly pressing you back in the seat as it gains momentum. It is the perfect stealth Stop Light racer!

This is an unbelievable H2 Hummer conversion done by Mash Motorworks out of Wichita, KS. H2’s were originally built for GM by AM General based on a GMT820 2500 ¾ ton chassis. It has allowed the 6.6 Diesel conversion to be a straight forward process as the 6.6 Duramax and Allison Transmission are a factory drivetrain. It is so stock, California issued a CARB sticker which is in the drivers side door frame.

With a $36,500 starting figure, Mash Motorworks includes the following with options available:

• A complete replacement of your vehicle’s factory power train to the 6.6 Liter
LBZ Duramax Turbo Diesel Engine
• Factory Rebuilt Allison M1000 heavy-duty 6-speed automatic transmission
• Factory Rebuilt NP HD transfer case with 2HI, 4HI, 4LOW
• Turbo inter cooler
• Radiator
• Oversized fan and fan clutch
• Oversized transmission and engine oil cooler
• New rear drive shaft
• New front drive shaft
• New motor mounts
• Custom high-flow cold air intake system
• New diesel speedometer
• All necessary fluids, hoses and hardware

Some of the invoices involved with build up are included in the images below.

The stock H2 featured included AC with Tri-Zone Climate Controls, Tilt Steering Wheel with radio controls, Cruise Control, Leather Upholstery, Heated Front and Rear seats, 8-way Power Front Seats, Dual memory system, BOSE Premium Sound System, Outside-Temperature Indicator, Compass, Rear Radio Controls, Independent Front Torsion Bar Suspension, rear 5-link Air Ride Suspension specially created for the H2. As an option the H2 is equipped with electronically folding Mirrors.

After shipping the H2 to Kansas for the drivetrain conversion, when the truck was returned to it’s owner, he had it painted to resolve the stock GM paint lifting issue’s which came out much better than stock from the factory. Prior to paint, Front Hood Louvers were added for extra cooling. Custom Gobi Roof Racks with LED Lighting were added along a Heavy Duty Front Winch Bumper and Brush Guard, a Heavy Duty Rear Bumper with a Ladder for the Luggage Rack along with a HD Spare Tire Mount. A set of AMP Power Step retracting Running Boards were then added along with oversized Brake Calipers.

Under the hood, Dual Alternators and Batteries were installed. Bilstein Shocks were added underneath along with new Custom Wheels. Electronically a DGC 5 Setting Programmer was installed backed up by a Air Dog Fuel System. The High End Stereo System has Subs and JL Speakers added. A new upgraded Shifter was installed along with a center console Gun Safe. Front and Rear Cameras are viewed through the Tuner.
